June 8th, 2009, marked our second annual Strut for Mutts Walk. Almost 60 people showed up along with many dogs to walk down Mentor Ave. and show off our spiffy t-shirts and let everyone know how special dogs are. We collected $3,749 in pledges and donations which will allow us to finally bring our credit card balance down to zero for this month! MANY thanks to Sandie, co-founder of MMR, and Lorraine, Sandie's best friend and MMR volunteer, and Jim and Roger (spouses) for all the time and hard work put into this event to make it so successful and fun for everyone!
Special thanks goes out to Charter One Bank for letting us use their property, opening the building for use of the restrooms, and allowing us to post a huge sign announcing this event on their front yard. More special thanks goes out to Dr. Roberts and Dr. Wulf and the whole gang at Edgewood Vet Hospital for working with our rescue and giving of their time, money, expertise, and LOVE our rescue dogs so desperately need.
