JARED'S GRADUATION DAY!
Hello Mini Mutts,
I thought that I might brighten your day…… I wanted to let you know that Jared successfully completed his obedience training. We got off to a rocky start. In fact I think he had pretty much horrified the other mommies and dogs the first day of class. All of the other dogs were sitting so nicely and there was Jared springing up and down, barking at the other dogs trying to get something going. He was just so excited he couldn't control himself. Well as it turned out, he became the star of the class. The instructor used him more often then not to demonstrate new behaviors. The last few weeks of class we have been doing fun stuff. The instructor had us doing something that she called rally. She set up cones across the floor. The dogs then went from cone to cone and had to perform various commands at each cone etc. She explained that in competition it was a timed event so the dogs had to do everything thoroughly but quickly. Jared showed everyone up every time. Slow is not in his nature. No one wanted to go after us. All of the mommies could not believe how good he was doing. His instructor just couldn't figure Jared out. She said that she would swear that he was a Jack Russell but he was way too smart. I was so proud of him.
Jared is still doing so well with the kids and Chloe. Everyone loves him. He is still very spirited (we avoid the use of the label hyper) but I suspect that he will always be. He hasn't grown any since we got him. He has also gotten more used to baths given that he manages to get into the swap every weekend and gets a bath every Sunday. He is having a ball. Country living suits him well.
Attached is a picture of him on Graduation day. (He wasn't too keen on the hat)
Sincerely,
Jared's Family
