Lucy's puppies were born on my mother's birthday, August 9th, 2006. The best part about these births is the puppies were born into FREEDOM. You see, Lucy was the victim of a puppymill. We rescued her and soon discovered she was pregnant. Four little ones soon made their arrival and quickly warmed our hearts! At 6 weeks of age they went into a foster home together where another little mini mutt soon became the "step mom" and took very good care of the pups. The Petrick family assigned each of their four children to a puppy to be their caretaker - Lizzie took care of Ruthie, Meri-Lola, Emily-Phillip, and Jack-Obie. It was a wonderful experience for all and the puppies thrived under the children's care. It was a sad but happy day for the puppies on adoption day. Each puppy went home with a care package put together by the Petrick children and mom including a CD with all their baby pictures! Each got wonderful homes including Lola who got to stay with her foster family! Here are pictures of the puppies the day they got adopted.
