This is a brand new page as we are starting to make more public appearances to get the word out that our little dogs need homes! So keep checking back as we add more links and pictures of our rescue participants showing all the fun we're having as we save more and more dogs and find more and more forever homes!
Remember, if you wish to be part of our wonderful organization, just let us know by sending us an email and we'll find a spot for you - driver, puller, foster home, etc. - we need help in ALL areas of rescue work!
AWARENESS DAYS
Our second rescue awareness event was very successful! We participated in "Hearts for Hands Community Day" in Mentor, OH. We set up a table with a corkboard showing big pictures of available dogs looking for their forever homes, passed out "Strut for Mutts" information and registration packets, set up a donation jar, and brought several of our mini mutts to meet people. We talked and talked and talked rescue! We raised $113 from monetary donations and already have one application sent in for one of the dogs that went with us! Many people asked questions about rescue work, transporting dogs, and fostering/adopting. We even made the front page of our local newspaper ! Click HERE to see pictures of our fun filled day!

Mini Mutts Rescue was represented by Peanut, our wheelchair chihuahua, at Debonne' Vineyards in Ashtabula County, OH. They hosted "Pet Days" and had categories for judging and prizes. Peanut won "Most Unique" and was awarded a trophy and $10 gift certificate. Of course, we celebrated using the gift certificate to get some wine to taste but all in all had a wonderful time. Lots of dogs and people and everyone was curious about Peanut and VERY friendly. What a wonderful way to tell people about rescue and share success stories. Dogs at the ball park? That's right! Mini Mutts Rescue went to Eastlake, OH, to a Captain's Minor League Game. Dick Goddard was there taking pictures and Peanut was the hit of the show! Landen and Elmo went to the game with human parents Chris and Patricia and Teddy Bear was there with his human mom Virginia and her family. Amy, our foster mom in Eastlake, brought Buddy (Lucky) and her children to cheer the Captains on to a win? no, a loss. They didn't play too well that night. But we all had a wonderful time! TRANSPORTS

Transports are usually the first step in a rescue dog's new life of freedom.
Once a dog leaves a pound or shelter, he/she needs to get to rescue, and
oftentimes this is done by way of transports as many rescues take dogs in that
are many miles away! See more transport pictures here.
Scruffy on transport to rescue and freedom!
REUNION PICNICS

We started having reunion picnics the year we started Mini Mutts in 2004. Our first picnic was planned "on the fly" so we only had a few participants. The next year's picnic doubled in size and and every year the picnics are getting bigger and bigger! These picnics give us a chance to see our adopted rescue dogs with their forever families as well adjusted family members. Quite often they don't even remember us which is a good thing, this means they've accepted their family as their forever homes and are quite content. Others remember us quite well and are happy to see us as we are just as happy to see them! Click on the links below to see each year's picnic pictures to see what a wonderful time we've all had.
PARADES

We started marching in parades in 2006 and had such a wonderful time we're going to continue marching in as many as we can. We've had such a tremendous participation turnout, the dogs had a wonderful time, and parade spectators enjoyed seeing our little ones walking down the street. Many "ooh's" and "ahh's" were heard. We passed out informational flyers to let everyone know who we are so let's hope more mini mutts get adopted! Click on the links below to see pictures of the parades we've marched in so far.

FUNDRAISERS
Mini Mutts Rescue has been blessed with many people to help our rescue with fundraisers and donations. Our main page shows you our Valentine's Basket Raffle which raised $900. Click here to see pictures of what one of our local girl scout troups did. We also benefited from a "wild" birthday party hosted by one of our adoptive mini mutt families in which the birthday kids accepted monetary donations to our rescue in lieu of birthday presents! These same kids helped raise Lucy's pups and get them ready for adoption. Thank you to everyone who participates in fund raisers by selling/buying tickets, donating money and items, and driving, fostering, etc. for our rescue. The dogs benefit tremendously!
2008 - Wow, what a year we've had so far!! We've had another girl scout troop visit us. They earned their "Pet Care" badge and got to visit with all the little mini mutts. They presented us with a check from their cookie sales and one of the girls' mother's teaches and they made and sold chocolates and donated the money for us to rescue a puppymill dog. Click here to see what an awesome day we had!
Our FIRST ANNUAL STRUT FOR MUTTS WALK was a HUGE success!! With over 60 walkers and 30 dogs we raised over $5,600 in pledges and donations! We were all amazed and VERY GRATEFUL to everyone who participated. We're hoping next year will be bigger and maybe our local news people will get involved. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped Mini Mutts Rescue raise much needed funds for our vet bills. A BIG thank you to Sandie, Lorraine, Jim, and Roger for all their time and hard work put into this event to make it so enjoyable for all. Our FIRST ANNUAL CAR WASH was a great success, raising over $200, which will help save several more dogs! We had several foster homes and adoptive families come out to help with the washing of cars, holding of signs, and talking to customers about rescue. Thanks to Crush, Kim's St. Bernard, for wearing a sign and walking the sidewalk along Route 20 attracting even more customers than planned.
