Poor little Bernie was just a tiny little puppy lonely and scared in a very noisy and overcrowded pound. Because he was so tiny, the pound workers put Bernie in a separate cement pen in a room all by himself. He had a chain collar big enough to hold a shepherd yet he was only maybe 5 pounds himself! We found him while looking at other dogs and just had to get him out of there. Luckily for Bernie, he got out just in time, because another puppy wasn't so lucky, she died of Parvo! Bernie quickly became the center of attention at his foster home. He took over the BIG doggie pillow and snatched all the stuffed animal toys and gathered them all around him. Soon enough, we were getting applications like crazy. One stood out and soon Bernie was going to his new home in Eastlake. Donna fell in love with Bernier, now being called Darby, instantly and the two of them are now inseparable. A true rescue story here!
